Securities Services Operations Apac Regional Head

The Regional Head of Securities Services Operations will be responsible for delivering efficient, scalable operational services across Asia. This role reports directly to the Global Head of Securities Services Operations and will be a member of the SSO Leadership Team as well as reporting to regional O&T Asia and business Asia heads.

Securities Services provides a suite of services across 14 markets and associated global CSC locations seeing significant product and client growth in the local and global products. Securities Services includes Custody, Funds, Issuer & Execution Services.

Within SSO Asia, the function will have an oversight of ~2,800 FTE. The leader must collaborate with peers and the Global Operations Head in designing and implementing programs designed to improve client satisfaction, operational efficiency, risk & control platform and team effectiveness

**Culture & People**:

- Create an effective APAC Operations management committee and ensure Operations priorities are appropriately aligned across products, and with the APAC ICG O&T strategy
- Work collaboratively with Global Ops leads and regional HR to develop the most efficient org structure, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and alignment to organizational standards
- Coordinate talent processes for the APAC region consistently:

- Engage in senior Operations hiring, talent & promotion decisions in the region
- Work with Ops leads in the region to identify mobility opportunities
- Oversee consistent implementation of People strategy initiatives and VOE actions within the region in alignment with regional ICG O&T and Business initiatives
- Deliver consistent communications of Business and Operations priorities within the region - Townhalls, Ask me Anything, Newsletters
- Ensure consistency across APAC sites for staff surveys and VOE action plans
- Oversight of the resources based across the region, ensuring alignment and coordination across the functional Operations teams in terms of client coordination, strategy, operations risk, and employee engagement.
- Be the regional SSO key contributor to the global resources & location strategy and ensure the regional execution.
- Collaborate and partner with Country O&T heads for local deliveries

- Ensure Operations priorities in the region fully aligned with regional Business strategies
- Engage in strategic client relationships in APAC as appropriate in collaboration with the Business and Ops Functional leads
- Develop metrics and measurement to assess competitive benchmarks for the region, relative to industry peers
- Drive the regional client agenda with the global functional operations teams, assisting both navigating the global organization as well as providing regional context.

- Oversee the regional SS Ops expense base in collaboration with Global Functional leads:

- Proactively identify opportunities for cost reduction & scalable productivity in the region:

- Share best practice & knowledge across individual product areas
- Identify new synergies across products within the region
- Drive location / site strategy for the region in alignment with Target Operating Model
- Lead selected strategic re-engineering initiatives in the region
- Align annual Ops budget & investment priorities for the region with regional O&T and Business Heads covering:

- Custody (DCC/GC/Asset Services), Funds Execution Services
- Issuer Services
- Deliver consistent reporting and analysis of regional Ops expenses & FTE, including:

- Produce full year outlook, and manage monthly variances
- Track & explain monthly variances to plan
- Escalate material expense or FTE variances in the region

**Controls**:

- Ensure an effective control environment is in place for the APAC region:

- Maintain register of key Operations risks, and ensure effective mitigation plans are in place
- Run regular control forums documented with regional leads
- Prioritize, escalate with regional and global functional leads
- Actively manage CAPs, internal Audits, MCA reviews and regulatory inspections in the region
- Drive all Action plan closure to agreed SLA 30 days prior to close
- Represent APAC SS Operations risk profile with appropriate internal & external stakeholders, including Audit, Compliance, OCC etc
- Proactively identify and escalate material risk issues and near misses within the region to regional ICG O&T and Business stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to share best-practice across products
- Ensure COB plans are aligned and consistently implemented within the region
- Work in collaboration with Operations Control to ensure ongoing compliance with regional rules and regulations, including governance of key regulatory projects in the region
- Lead role in engagement with local and global regulators to ensure compliance with fieldwork, reviews and associated data gathering requirements.
