**Laser Manufacturing Engineer Role Description**

This is a dynamic and innovative position available for a skilled Laser Manufacturing Engineer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to partner with manufacturing teams to establish and improve laser production line efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and product quality
  • Qualify active and passive optical components, develop and benchmark system performance models, and evaluate and select test instrumentation
  • Support production activities by troubleshooting issues and providing technical assistance to manufacturing technicians
  • Maintain and update manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, to optimize production processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Design and/or modify production lines for new customization or configuration
  • Maintain Manufacturing documentation and execute Engineering Changes for implementation
  • Perform Failure Analysis on RMAs and Production issues
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to address technical issues and resolution

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in laser processing, manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with laser systems (e.g., UV, CO2, fiber lasers), optics, and motion control systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), DOE, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in a cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing environment is a plus
