Job Summary:

A Laser Engineer will partner with the manufacturing team to establish and improve efficiency in laser production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and product quality
  • Qualify active and passive optical components, develop system performance models, test procedures, and select instrumentation
  • Support production activities by troubleshooting issues and providing technical assistance
  • Maintain and update documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Develop new laser products and improve production cycle time
  • Design and/or modify production lines for customization or configuration
  • Maintain documentation and execute engineering changes
  • Perform failure analysis on RMAs and production issues
  • Collaborate to address technical issues and resolution

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in laser processing, manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with laser systems, optics, and motion control systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with SPC, DOE, and lean six sigma methodologies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
