Job Title: Senior Executive Pastry Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at Japan Foods Enterprises Pte. Ltd.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the pastry department, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Supervise a team of pastry chefs, providing guidance and training to ensure consistency in food presentation, taste, and texture.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, working closely with the culinary team to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients, ensuring that the pastry department is well-stocked and efficient.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of food preparation and presentation.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all pastry products meet the company's high standards.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for new employees, ensuring that they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, ensuring that the pastry department is operating within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and ensuring that the pastry department is receiving the best possible value.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to improve the pastry department's performance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior pastry role, preferably in a high-volume food service environment.
  • Certificate or diploma in food and beverage or hospitality management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in Japanese language, with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and other stakeholders.
