Job Title: Application Modernisation Cloud Consultant

As a seasoned Application Modernisation Cloud Consultant, you will be working closely with our most strategic customers to drive the transformation of their businesses through the adoption of modern application patterns and paradigms on Google Cloud Platform.

You will possess a broad skill set including software engineering, architecture design, distributed systems, container technologies, and deployment strategies. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping our customers navigate the complexities of cloud adoption and modernization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with customer development leads, client executives, and partners to manage and deliver successful cloud applications, becoming a trusted advisor throughout the engagement.
  • Develop and disseminate best practices, methodologies, and thought leadership assets by working with internal specialists, product, and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks/issues, and timelines, ensuring successful client outcomes.
  • Advocate for customer needs to overcome adoption barriers and drive new feature development based on field experience.
  • Propose and manage the deployment of cloud-native application development solutions tailored to complex customer requirements and best practices.
  • Provide consulting, program management, and technical expertise to customers, assisting them in transforming their businesses through application modernization on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Work closely with key partners servicing top accounts to manage programs, deliver consulting services, and provide technical guidance and best practice expertise.
  • Travel approximately 30% of the time for client engagements to ensure direct and effective project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and/or delivering technical solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of the software supply chain in an enterprise environment, including software engineering, testing, and CI/CD, with experience in architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in containerized environments.
  • At least 7 years of experience demonstrating technical client service and expertise in highly available, scalable applications and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in software languages such as Java, Go, JavaScript, Python, etc., and experience in building/architecting DevOps pipelines with associated tools.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, GKE, and Kubernetes networking.
  • Strong communication, written, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with fluency in English and proficiency in the local regional language.
  • Cloud certification and experience with application architecture, full-stack development, database management, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CI/CD tooling, cloud-native design patterns, API management, and observability approaches for metrics and logging.
