Software Engineer Job Opportunity

You will be part of a talented team delivering business-critical software for internal and external customers in Singapore. The goal is to deliver high-quality software that meets the needs of our customers.

The role involves working within an Agile environment, from design through to implementation, with a focus on Continuous Improvement and collaboration as part of a self-organising, cross-functional team.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with architects to build solutions that align with the company's strategy and vision, providing support and mentoring to other members of the team, partnering with QA teams to ensure delivery of quality software, promoting delivery of quality software through unit tests, code reviews, etc., experimenting with multiple technologies and methodologies to guarantee the best solution and approach, delivering against both Functional and Non-functional requirements, taking ownership/accountability for development of key features and driving them to completion, and communicating effectively on progress and ensuring impediments are raised early to minimize impact on delivery.

  • Develop scalable software solutions using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Maintain relational databases such as MSSQL Server and MySQL.
  • Design components of a distributed system and implement asynchronous messaging using message queues.
  • Deploy software applications on cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Collaborate with local and remote teams to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • Degree or +4 years equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Expert in Java (version 8 through to the latest release) with strong understanding of language enhancements and ecosystem evolution.
  • Extensive use of Spring Boot and Spring modules - spring-beans, spring-messaging.
  • Expert knowledge of Hibernate framework.
  • Familiarity with Gitlabs/GitHub, CI/CD build pipelines, and package management.
  • Adept at Agile working practices with strong communication skills.
