Role Summary:

Mechanical Engineer I is an entry-level position responsible for providing engineering support for the commercialization, application, and customization of all Starline products. This role works under clearly defined guidelines and close supervision of a manager and other engineers.

Job Description
  • Conceptualize and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Test (DFT), Assembly (DFA) and Full Turnkey solutions.
  • Support the engineering team in the commercialization and launch of Starline-designed products.
  • Perform mechanical engineering design tasks in support of customer-specific customizations of Starline products.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation such as drawings, O&M Manuals, installation instructions, work instructions and product catalogs.
  • Support the integration of 3rd-party products with Starline's product offerings.

The Mechanical Engineer I provides lab testing support and collaborates with certification laboratories such as UL, CSA and Intertek (ETL) as well as various international agencies. This role requires exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop mechanical systems and components that meet customer requirements.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development and launch.
  3. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, manuals, and guides.
  4. Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Relevant experience in the mechanical engineering field, either in a professional or academic setting.
  • Familiarity with low voltage power distribution equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10%.
