The Principal Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of mechanical capital and engineering projects in ASEAN. They will develop strategic business cases to ensure equipment technology is fit for purpose and meets market requirements, and establish management and maintenance standards for Mechanical Engineering across ASEAN projects. The role involves reviewing the capital portfolio and leading the mechanical engineering talent pipeline in ASEAN.

What You Will Do

  1. Manage project delivery within mechanical engineering.
  2. Governance of mechanical engineering standards across ASEAN projects.
  3. Contribute to design, project engineering management, and commissioning from a mechanical perspective.
  4. Develop mechanical equipment strategy and standardization to improve scalability and resource optimization across ASEAN.
  5. Ensure OEM equipment and engineering quality meet standards and support local compliance with regulations.
  6. Manage resources and capability uplift in-country.
  7. End-to-end talent management of the mechanical engineering skill pool.
  8. Prioritize safety and zero harm.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification with 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience in mechanical equipment design and manufacturing, with the ability to design, analyze, and implement strategic upgrades.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design concepts in hydraulics, bearings, machine design, materials, gearboxes, and transmission systems.
  • Effective change leadership in a global, multicultural organization.
  • Ability to facilitate and coach effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical, across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in designing and manufacturing mechanical equipment for Cold Rolling Mills, Strip Processing Lines, Color Paint Lines, or Furnaces.
