Nutrition and Food Science Specialist Job Description

This role is focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness in various facilities, conducting thorough cleaning and organization tasks, and assisting with food preparation to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in craft and technology rooms, workshops, design and art studios, and kitchen labs.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning and organization of the aforementioned areas on a regular basis.
  • Assist with daily food preparation tasks to ensure that lessons run smoothly.
  • Work with teachers to prepare ingredients and necessary equipment for practical sessions.
  • Monitor stock levels of food ingredients and notify teachers when replenishment is required.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene during food preparation.
  • Support staff engagement committee in preparing meals, snacks, and packing staff welfare items.
  • Manage inventory of food ingredients and ensure proper storage.
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen labs at the end of each day.
  • E nsure safety compliance within kitchen labs and operate basic kitchen equipment safely.
  • Perform washing of aprons and school tablecloths as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a similar role or related field.
  • A degree in nutrition, food science, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • B asic knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
