About the Role:

Sephora is looking to appoint a FP&A Assistant Manager, who will report to the Regional Finance Director of SEA Oceania. The FP&A Assistant Manager will serve as a crucial business partner to the leadership team across the region, ensuring that timely and precise financial information is provided for robust control and informed decision-making regarding business activities. In this capacity, he/she will act as a strategic finance partner to various regional functions within our organization. He/She will play a pivotal role in enhancing financial performance, delivering insights, and supporting decision-making processes to optimize business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver relevant, timely, and accurate financial data to assist management and the regional finance team in key areas of control, including variance analysis of actual versus forecasts, monitoring capital expenditure against investment targets, and conducting ad hoc cost analyses.
  • Collaborate with business teams on budget cycles, strategic planning, internal process deadlines, and reporting schedules while ensuring follow-up on deliverables in a matrix organization.
  • Engage with various functions such as Central IT & E-commerce, Marketing, both local and regional, to support the Head of FP&A in critically analyzing performance, driving cost efficiencies, and identifying areas of risk and opportunity. Participate in cross-business decisions and ensure a strong commercial finance presence.
  • Assist in developing business cases for investments to guarantee optimal returns on capital deployed.
  • Provide financial insights and scenario analyses to facilitate decision-making processes and drive business growth.
  • Recommend enhancements to processes and reporting, pilot tools to optimize business operations whenever necessary or relevant. This includes continuous improvement and development of existing and/or new systems within the organization.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a solid accounting and planning background, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Prior experience in financial controlling is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Jedox, and/or other performance management software.
  • Dynamic, energetic, and driven to succeed, with a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Ability to learn swiftly, understand key business drivers, and communicate in a commercially focused manner.
  • Capability to manage multiple deadlines with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong team spirit, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging across various levels and functions.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
