Job Title:

Ground Support Specialist

The Ground Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of ground equipment at airports. This involves working with a variety of vehicles and machinery, including tow tractors, belt loaders, and transporters.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate ground equipment and vehicles within permitted classes safely and efficiently
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages immediately to supervisors
  • Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks on aircraft parking stands
  • Manually marshal or operate Aircraft Docking Guidance Systems (ADGS) at aircraft parking stands
  • Place and remove aircraft wheel chocks and safety cones based on airlines' requirements
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are free from Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
  • Perform general loading and unloading operations, ensuring proper handling and placement to avoid damage
  • Assist with Passenger Loading Bridge (PLB) duties, including docking and withdrawing
  • Read and interpret Container Pallet Message (CPM) and Loading Instruction Reports (LIR)
  • Act as a mentor to new recruits, providing guidance and support
  • Adhere to airport authority rules, dnata Ground Operation Manuals, and airlines' guidelines
  • Complete additional tasks and duties assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Minimum secondary education and above
  • Must possess a valid LTA Class 3 driving license or equivalent state driving license
  • Able to obtain an Airfield Driving Permit (ADP) after attending the Airfield Rules and Regulations Course and passing the required tests
  • Required skills include airside driving, aviation knowledge, and workplace safety
