Equipment Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly-qualified Equipment Specialist to take responsibility for equipment ownership, ensuring equipment indices like Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and uptime are met. This role involves working with process and industrial engineers and manufacturing teams to address issues related to hardware. Collaborations with vendors on equipment retrofit, upgrades, and Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) are also part of the job description.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Drive equipment fault investigations and continuous improvement programs to resolve chronic equipment issues and implement permanent resolutions to assure product quality and enhance process robustness.
  2. Maintain optimum utilization of equipment and resources, drive MTBF, MTTR, and increase equipment throughput.
  3. Establish equipment maintenance controls, review, and perform regular updates of Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures, Risk Assessments, and Troubleshooting guidelines.
  4. Perform simple modifications on Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) or Thermal Processing (TP) production equipment to improve machine efficiency and reliability.
  5. Collaborate with Equipment Suppliers for tool retrofit and resolving equipment issues.
  6. Work on projects to establish alternate suppliers to reduce costs.
  7. Establish sufficient essential spares and consumables stock levels to support equipment maintenance.
  8. Lead and guide shift technicians on all equipment maintenance tasks, providing effective equipment training to build up their technical competencies.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working on PVD or TP tools and strong knowledge of vacuum and plasma technology. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field, and at least 7 years of relevant experience are required.
