
Technical Applications Support Lead

As a seasoned Applications Support Group Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our technology function. This position entails leading and directing a team of professionals, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within the function to achieve strategic objectives.
Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills are essential for effective negotiation with senior leaders, both internally and externally. The manager must exercise control over resources, policy formulation, and planning, while influencing sub-functions and contributing to short- to medium-term planning actions and resource allocation.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of how applications support integrates with the overall technology function to achieve objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee offshore managed services, and drive continued cost reductions through Root Cause Analysis reviews and performance tuning.
- Develop and implement frameworks for managing capacity, throughput, and latency, as well as application on-boarding guidelines and standards.
- Coach team members on maximizing potential, working effectively in integrated teams, and focusing on strengths.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience, a postgraduate degree in a relevant field, and senior-level experience in apps support with commensurate people management expertise.
Key qualifications include project management, stakeholder management, capacity planning, and effective information sharing with other support teams and technology groups.
