Job Title: Data Protection Manager, APAC

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Manager to lead our efforts in ensuring compliance with data protection laws across multiple regions. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving privacy initiatives, providing expert advice, and collaborating with stakeholders to embed global privacy standards locally.

About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in data privacy and protection. You will be responsible for leading privacy impact assessments, monitoring and reporting on privacy risks, and providing guidance on compliance matters. Your expertise will help us navigate complex data protection laws and regulations, ensuring that our organization remains compliant and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and complete privacy impact assessments for business process changes, ensuring timely delivery and effective risk mitigation.
2. Monitor, report, and support remediation of privacy risks and compliance issues across business units.
3. Provide expert privacy advice and guidance to regional teams, backed by research and aligned with legal and policy requirements.
4. Design and deliver privacy training and communications tailored to business needs, especially in marketing and sales.
5. Develop and lead regional hub privacy programs, aligning with global strategy and ensuring local compliance.
6. Identify and address gaps in privacy programs, especially during audits, acquisitions, or divestments.
7. Act as liaison between business units and the global privacy office, fielding queries and escalating issues where needed.
8. Maintain a network of privacy champions to foster a culture of privacy awareness and accountability.

Requirements:
1. Excellent business-level proficiency in English.
2. Certified in privacy (e.g., CIPP/A, CIPM); a degree in law or data governance is preferred.
3. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with global privacy laws in commercial settings.
4. Proficient in OneTrust, including DSAR, Inventory, Assessment, and Cookie modules.
5. Strong grasp of online platforms, big data, and related systems and processes.
6. Proven ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
7. Strong leadership skills with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
8. Skilled in managing multiple priorities and delivering under tight deadlines.
9. Experience driving targeted improvement initiatives and collaborating in global teams.
