Job Title: Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Data Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical support group, you will play a vital role in providing expert-level product knowledge for IBM Spectrum Protect solutions and competitive products.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and experience in backup and recovery systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing billable services engagements, including the installation and implementation of IBM Spectrum Protect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Training and Support: Provide technical training and education to operations teams on IBM Spectrum Protect solutions and storage management best practices.
  • Support Operations: Offer 24/7 shift operations support, providing remote and onsite assistance as needed.
  • Problem Resolution: Analyze and resolve escalated problems within target timelines, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 Years of Technical Experience in TSM: Demonstrated expertise in Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Dip in IT or Equivalent: A recognized diploma in Information Technology or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in Managing Junior/Senior Support Personnel: Proven ability to manage and lead junior and senior support personnel, with a focus on building high-performing teams.
  • Ability to Quickly Analyze and Diagnose Problems: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Participation in Local and Global Teams: Ability to participate effectively in local and global teams, with a focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to Acquire Skills and Keep Them Updated: Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
