Job Description

The Construction Manager, Mechanical is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive lifecycle of Mechanical construction projects. The role requires expertise in managing mechanical systems, coordinating with site teams and contractors, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders to meet project objectives.

This includes planning, execution, and handover phases, ensuring timely completion of project milestones, identifying and mitigating project risks, and communicating updates on schedules, budgets, and technical issues to stakeholders.

The Construction Manager, Mechanical will lead mechanical specific contract negotiations and oversee amendments with architects, consultants, and subcontractors. They will also evaluate mechanical construction methods for cost-effectiveness, monitor budget adherence, and produce regular progress and financial reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire Mechanical construction lifecycle, including planning, execution, and handover phases.
  • Coordinate with site and contractor teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring clear communication of updates on schedules, budgets, and technical issues to stakeholders.
  • Lead mechanical specific contract negotiations and oversee amendments with architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate mechanical construction methods for cost-effectiveness, monitor budget adherence, and produce regular progress and financial reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management within the mechanical engineering field; additional experience in data center projects is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in local authority approval processes, and testing and commissioning of critical infrastructure in data centers, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • Solid understanding of CAPEX planning, cost estimation, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Proficiency in project management tools, MS Project, and MS Office, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, collaboration, and resilience under pressure.
