**Job Description**

The Senior Origination Manager - Asia Pacific Markets will play a pivotal role in enabling the consistent growth of Commercial Supply and Trading through tenders participation, delivering term short and long positions, and gaining access to trading assets for the global crude, clean products and renewables trading desks.

This senior supervisory position requires strong commercial skills and leadership, with a focus on leading the expansion in Asia Pacific markets. The incumbent will collaborate with the Global Origination team on cross-commodity opportunities that have a broad global impact.

**Key Accountabilities**

  • Develop a 5-year plan for origination in Asia, in line with the Global Origination Strategic Plan, to include financial targets, regional development plans and the associated staffing strategy;
  • Work collaboratively with global trading commodity leads, local trading desk heads and global market analysis resources to prioritize origination opportunities in Asia based on current and projected gaps for Phillips 66;
  • Supervise and assist with staffing origination function in Asia;
  • Build, maintain and enhance a strong network of customer relationships in target markets;
  • Source, negotiate and close profitable deals for the global trading desks in line with prioritized opportunity lists, and ensure smooth transition of closed deals to Trading desks for execution;
  • Deliver deals to exceed net income targets defined in origination plans (P&L measurement to be done on trading desks but origination function will track value-add associated with their deals);
  • Manage contract disputes if any arise during the term of the origination contracts;
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met by the origination team, with zero policy breaches.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong origination background and local commercial market experience gained over at least 15 years;
  • Regional / country knowledge with established relationships / network in Asia Pacific markets;
  • Technically competent in crude oil and refined products with the ability to initiate technical sales i.e. know features of commodity/product, customers' systems, Phillips 66 systems etc in order to make connections and propose deals that add value;
  • Proven ability to negotiate and implement contracts effectively with examples of structured deals that have been closed personally;
  • Good understanding of trading/financial products from trading or trading management roles;
  • Experience dealing with legal compliance issues such as FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), sanctions and anti-boycott issues;
  • Supervisory experience in a commercial role, preferably in structured negotiation and for more than one commodity;
  • Demonstrated strategic breadth with ability and desire to achieve significant growth targets;
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and multi-language proficiencies;
  • Effective in both internal and external relationships management with the ability to work co-operatively with all trading desks;
  • Required to travel regularly, up to 50% of time.
