Histology Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Microscopic Analyst to join our team. This role involves conducting routine histological tests in the Department of Pathology for use in disease treatment and diagnosis.
">Key Responsibilities:">- Perform reception of laboratory specimens, assign charge codes, and reject unacceptable samples according to rejection criteria.
- Assist pathologists during specimen trimming and evaluation.
- Process, embed, microtome, stain, mount, and label prepared slides and blocks.
- Gross simple and uncomplicated specimens.
- Perform frozen cryo-sectioning.
- Ensure proper equipment maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Monitor quality of staining and sectioning to meet specified standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory personnel.
- Prepare and maintain reagents and stains according to specifications.
- Carry out instructions from senior staff regarding work procedures and duties.
- Conduct continuing education classes.
- Comply with good laboratory practices and safety protocols.
- Participate in project teams as required.
- Assist in inventory management and external audits.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Degree in Biological or Life Sciences/Biomedical Science (preferred).
- Relevant experience in Histology laboratories (preferred).
- Initiative and ability to function effectively as a team member.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in applicable computer systems and software.
