Job Title: Construction Cost Estimator">About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Construction Cost Estimator. As a key member of our construction process, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely cost estimates for projects and tenders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out detailed cost estimates of projects and tenders by analyzing data and information from various sources.
  • Preparing quotations and purchase orders that meet client requirements and company standards.
  • Taking measurements and quantities for tender purposes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensuring timely submission of tenders, working closely with project managers and other stakeholders to meet deadlines.
  • Verifying that all documents are in order, including tender documents and supporting materials.
  • Providing clear and concise explanations of cost estimates and tender submissions to clients and project managers.
  • Attending tender interviews, project meetings, and vendor meetings to promote our services and build relationships.
  • Sourcing vendors and new tenders through online platforms and industry networks.
  • Participating in site showrounds to provide clients with a comprehensive understanding of project costs and timelines.
  • Updating movement charts and tender submission charts to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction cost estimating or a related field.
  • Diploma or degree certification in a relevant field such as construction management, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
  • The ability to work under tight schedules and deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • The ability to work independently, taking initiative and demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Skills:

  • Negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, to analyze data and create reports.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials to accurately estimate costs and timelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
