Job Title: Lead Cost Estimator

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Extract budget requirements from project budgets and conduct thorough analyses of procurement scope alignment.
  • Prepare packages for quotation calls.
  • Accurately perform quantity take-offs and produce bills of quantities using industry-standard software.
  • Source, shortlist, and invite subcontractors for quotations; prepare comparisons to ensure uniformity in basis.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare award recommendation documents for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Perform contract administration duties and exercise cost control during work processing.
  • Prepare payment responses and certifications for progress claims from subcontractors.
  • Monitor and update cash flow projections.
  • Submit detailed information on taking-off, estimation works, and tabulations.
  • Raise back-charges to subcontractors and suppliers promptly.
  • C coordinate meetings with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering industry.
  • Senior Quantity Surveyor position requires at least 6 years of experience in the civil engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of SMM principles, contract law, construction contracts, and the Security of Payment Act.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on cost-consciousness.
  • Experience in contract drafting, cost comparison analysis, contract procurement negotiations, and contract administration.
