Job Description

As a Laboratory Officer in our DNA Profiling Lab, you will play a critical role in conducting serological testing and DNA profiling on evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Examination of biological fluids using chemical and serological tests
  • DNA analysis of crime samples
  • Laboratory improvement and research projects through digital solutions
  • Assistance in developing and validating new technologies and methods
  • Supporting laboratory administrative duties such as equipment maintenance, inventory management, procurement of consumables, and preparation of laboratory reagents/supplies

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A background in Biology, Biomedical Science, or Biotechnology (or equivalent)
  • Successfully completed supervised laboratory research in the biochemistry/molecular biology area
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask
  • Collaborative team player with the capability to work independently, showcasing a proactive approach
  • Proficient in digital and data analytic skills, particularly in Power Automate and Power Apps, SQL, Python, and Tableau
