We are looking for a talented Search Engine Specialist to join our team in 2025. As a member of our Search Team, you will play a crucial role in building and owning TikTok's search engine.

Our ideal candidate has a strong background in computer science or a related field, with proficiency in modern machine learning methods and technologies such as NLP, Computer Vision, Multimodal, and Recommender Systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the searching quality to provide TikTok's users the best search experience. This involves combining their understanding of product objectives with modern machine learning techniques to improve the search ranking algorithms.

To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, Ranking, Ads, Search engine, Recommender System, and Machine Learning.

About the Role

  • Otimize the searching quality to provide TikTok's users the best search experience.">
  • Combine your understanding of product objectives and take full advantage of modern machine learning, NLP and Multimodal techniques to improve the search ranking algorithms, including query understanding, video understanding and various levels of result ranking.">
  • Develop and maintain efficient and scalable search systems.">
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.">
  • Contribute to the development of new features and functionality.">
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase.">
  • Collaborate with the data science team to inform product decisions.">

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or above in the field of computer science or a related technical discipline.">
  • Proficient coding skills and strong algorithm & data structure using C++/Python/Java.">
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.">
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, Ranking, Ads, Search engine, Recommender System, and Machine Learning.">
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.">
