Job Summary:

Receivables Manager

The role of Receivables Manager is responsible for the timely collection and management of the company's receivables, ensuring accurate records and effective customer accounts management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receivables Management:
  • Generate and issue invoices, credit notes, and debit notes in a timely manner to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Record and track incoming payments, allocating them correctly to customer accounts.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure timely collections and follow up on overdue payments, reducing bad debt risk.
  • Maintain an updated AR aging report providing insights on outstanding receivables, aiding in informed financial decisions.
Customer Account Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile the AR sub-ledger with the general ledger to ensure accuracy and detect any discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and customer account issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with internal teams and customers to resolve billing issues and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Credit Control & Risk Management:
  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and propose appropriate credit limits to minimize risk.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure proper credit terms are applied to each sale.
  • Enforce credit policies and monitor collection efforts to reduce bad debt risk and maintain a healthy cash flow.
Reporting & Compliance:
  • Prepare detailed AR reports, including aging analysis, collections forecast, and bad debt provisions, to aid in informed financial decisions.
  • Assist with financial audits and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to AR, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Process Improvement & System Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the AR process for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Assist in system upgrades, ERP implementation, and automation of receivables management to streamline processes and reduce manual errors.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial regulations, maintaining a secure and compliant environment.

To excel in this role, you will need a degree in Accounting or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools is also essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required for success in this position.
