Subsea Cable Manager Role

Keen to lead the way in subsea cable infrastructure projects? As a Senior Manager, Subsea Cable Development, you will be responsible for driving and managing submarine cable infrastructure projects from conceptualization to implementation.

  • Collaborate with partners, customers, and internal teams to plan new subsea cable projects through secure, practical routes that meet stakeholders' needs.
  • Convert business requirements into detailed engineering specifications by evaluating industry trends, technology, cost optimization, and future-proofing.
  • Evaluate optimum cable routes through desktop studies, engaging vendors, and capturing stakeholders' requirements. Drive the Invitation to Tender process, evaluate bids, and select vendors.
  • Develop and finalize supply contracts with subsea cable vendors, coordinating closely with Joint build partners, internal legal teams, and various stakeholders.
  • Work with submarine cable vendors and partners to drive system implementation, including design, manufacturing, and installation activities.
  • Collaborate with landing service providers, vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure deliverable items are ready on target timelines.
  • Ensure customers obtain necessary permits in respective countries for initial installation, providing support and coordination with suppliers.
  • Ownership of customer experience and relationship management;
  • This role serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for customers and partners on subsea cable project implementation.

Responsibilities Extend Beyond Project Implementation: Conduct periodic review meetings with partners/customers/stakeholders and various vendors/providers to discuss performance, issues, and related action items.

Travel may be required within or outside regions to assist at various sites. Strong communication skills are essential.

Project and Operations activities can require after-hours coordinated activity and/or unplanned accessibility involving customer-specific activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication).

At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in submarine cable operations or submarine cable projects.

Experience driving submarine cable projects, especially on conceptualization, design, vendor selection, contract forming, and project implementation stages.

Knowledge of submarine cable equipment, such as PFE, monitoring equipment, OADM, SLTE, OTDR/COTDR, Spectrum analyzer, etc.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to set priorities, recognize basic causes, and recommend solutions that meet practical business needs.

Strong interpersonal style; a team player able to work effectively with employees at all levels.

Self-starter, able to take initiative and work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.
