Trade Documentation Director

About the Role:
The Trade Documentation Director is a leadership role that oversees the Chamber's Trade Documentation operations. The successful candidate will lead the development and enhancement of Trade Documentation systems, ensure regulatory compliance, drive service excellence, and manage key relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the full suite of Trade Documentation Services, including the issuance and endorsement of Certificates of Origin (CO), other trade/shipping, and non-standard trade documents, including ATA and TDB-BOFT Carnets.
- Maintain consistent compliance with all applicable regulatory policies and guidelines governing Trade Documentation Services.
- Develop and enhance CO and Carnet systems, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors on technical and operational project requirements.
- Proactively engage with users of Trade Documentation Services to raise awareness of the Chamber's offerings, enhance client experience, and drive membership growth and retention.
- Serve as the Chamber's key liaison with government authorities on trade regulations, documentation, and facilitation matters, maintaining strong and effective relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Handle queries and verification requests regarding the authenticity of trade documents issued by the Chamber, overseeing proper document retention and secure warehousing and destruction of confidential documents.
- Conduct CO and Carnet presentations and training programmes, maintaining a systematic training and orientation programme for trade documentation staff and ensuring high standards of performance.
Requirements:
- At least 9 years of relevant experience with 4 years in leadership or team management role.
- Strong expertise in trade documentation, certification, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership in project management and in developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
