Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate shipbuilding or repair work, ensuring timely completion and maintaining quality standards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, preparing project schedules and inputting manpower loading.
  • Control and monitor departmental operations, ordering materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers to optimize procedures and schedules.
  • Ensure workplace safety, discipline, and employee welfare.
  • Perform trade work according to specifications, minimizing material waste.
  • Supervise subordinates and contractors, providing detailed instructions.
Requirements:
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings, prepare project schedules, and plan tools/equipment/material take-off.
  • Good computer skills and leadership abilities, along with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend ship structural/mechanical drawings.
  • Capacity to plan and coordinate shipbuilding/repair work with safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Experience in managing people, understanding ships' structures, and marine machinery knowledge.

This role involves leading a team of supervisors, fitters, and subcontractors, optimizing work processes and equipment utilization. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to read and understand technical drawings.
