Boiler Mechanic Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Boiler Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations staff, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of boiler systems in various settings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in boiler operation and maintenance, with experience working with hydronic and steam HVAC systems. You will be skilled in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair boiler systems, including hydronic and steam HVAC systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment.
  • Diagnostics and repair complex mechanical issues.
  • Work with other departments to plan and complete tasking.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in boiler operation and maintenance.
  • Documented experience in construction, repair, and/or maintenance of commercial, residential, and/or industrial facilities' boiler systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, diagrams, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer's troubleshooting guides.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate in Steam Boiler Operation/Maintenance.
  • ASSE 19210 hydronic Heating & Cooling Certificate.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Physical and/or Other Requirements:
  • Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.
  • Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica.
  • Valid Driver's License issued in the United States.

Please note that this is a seasonal contract position, supporting the National Science Foundation managed United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC).
