About AIA's Private Assets Movement

AIA is embarking on an exciting journey to create a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Manager to join our Private Assets Services team.

About the Role

This position will provide critical operational support for AIA's private investments, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and contributing to the team's efforts to implement a target state model to support our Alternative/Private Asset investment ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and broadcast capital calls and distributions from General Partners (GPs) in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date GP Portal access and contact lists.
  • Handle capital call and distribution workflows, ensuring trades are booked by responsible parties.
  • Set up new investments in the FO System and MO System.
  • Act as the primary contact point with GPs for cap call, distribution, and undrawn commitment queries.
  • Provide information to relevant portfolio managers to support input into Bloomberg AIM.
  • Coordinate cash transfers between portfolios, ensuring cash is available to fund investments.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and workflows, improve efficiencies, and minimize operational risks.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish and maintain proper process documentation in alignment with the operational control environment.
  • Participate in and contribute to Group and Company projects involving private asset investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Banking, and Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of work experience in an asset management company or private asset general partnership involved in the management of private investments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end investment processes, controls, and technologies for private assets.
  • Knowledge of fund vehicles such as SICAV or Singapore unit trusts/VCC is an advantage.
  • Ability to design and implement new or enhanced processes and controls.
  • Experience in working and communicating with external service providers and fund managers.
  • Capable of preparing financial and business analyses and preparing presentations.
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal form.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with eFront system is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented, dedicated, and open-minded working attitude.
