About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the financial success of our construction projects.

The Senior Construction Professional will be responsible for managing and preparing cost estimates and contract administration for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review tender documents and participate in pre-tendering activities with clients and project managers.
  2. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and provide accurate quantity and component take-offs against drawings.
  3. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain best prices and terms.
  4. Understand contract requirements, identify discrepancies in tender/contract documents, and raise queries for clarification.
  5. Manage project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.
  6. Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  7. Check and verify progress of work and submission of progress claims to clients.
  8. Check and verify subcontracts/vendors progress claims against actual work and quality of work done, and certify progress claim.
  9. Work closely with the Project Team to provide cost and contractual advice, as well as determine valuation of work done at site.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Tertiary degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
  2. Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards.
  3. Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.
  4. Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
  5. Experience working with AutoCAD and validating quantities from drawings.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities.
  8. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.
  9. Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.
