Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the scope of electrical systems related to diesel genset enclosures. This includes working closely with sales teams to define technical scopes, reviewing customer specifications and tender documents, and providing technical specifications and defining the scope of supply for equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of electrical systems related to diesel genset enclosures
  • Work closely with sales to define technical scope (electrical and automation)
  • Review/clarify customer's specifications & tender documents
  • Provide technical specifications and define scope of supply for equipment
  • Coordinate with factory and local suppliers to harmonize scope of supply
  • Work with suppliers/contractors to quote for equipment and obtain proposals timely
  • Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations
  • Define electrical systems requirements for walk-in genset enclosures suitable for project needs
  • Provide electrical/automation design and prepare drawings and documents for customer's technical requirements
  • Calculate, verify, and select right equipment/suppliers
  • Use computerized engineering tools/database, technical library information, and factory standards for solution engineering work
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues related to power generation and distribution
  • Provide and maintain product and solution engineering information
  • Prepare and carry out technical presentations and training

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • University/college studies in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in diesel engine/generator industry, minimum 5 years with track record of successfully delivered projects and solutions
  • Solid understanding of automation system, electrical system, protection system of a diesel generator set, and ability to integrate understanding into designing a genset enclosure
  • Knowledge of engineering calculation for genset electrical systems, e.g., load & short circuit sizing
  • Demonstrating ability to conceptualize and execute complex electrical system designs and bring cost benefit to customer
  • Excellent team player with open mindset, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals
  • Willingness to travel for onsite jobs when needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet project requirements and deadlines effectively
