Procurement Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the procurement department of a leading healthcare organization.

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in procurement, preferably in a pharmaceutical setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and consumables to ensure timely availability for patient care.
  • Liaising with vendors and suppliers on quotation requests, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
  • Verifying and receiving incoming stock against purchase orders, checking for accuracy, quality, and expiry dates.
  • Maintaining proper documentation of procurement activities, including invoices, purchase requisitions, and supplier records.
  • Monitoring stock levels, tracking usage trends, and assisting in forecasting to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Supporting the pharmacy team in maintaining compliance with procurement policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
  • Conducting periodic inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies in the stock management system.
  • Providing administrative support to the pharmacy department, including filing, data entry, and report preparation.
  • Assisting pharmacists and technicians in ensuring that procurement activities align with patient safety and operational needs.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Prior experience in procurement, preferably in a pharmaceutical setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and control procedures.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
