We are seeking a skilled and experienced Veterinary Behaviour Specialist to join our team.
Job Description- Conduct thorough clinical behavioural assessments and consultations, including medical evaluations.
- Identify underlying causes of behavioural issues, such as medical conditions, environmental factors, or learned behaviours.
Treatment Planning:
- Develop individualized behaviour modification plans and treatment protocols.
- Prescribe and manage medications to support behaviour therapy when appropriate.
- Educate pet owners on implementing necessary intervention to address behavioural challenges.
Partner with Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), certified animal trainers, and animal care professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide clear communication and training to pet owners about behaviour management techniques.
- Deliver ongoing support and follow-up to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Train veterinary behaviourist residents and other veterinary staff on behavioural issues, safe handling techniques, and early intervention strategies.
- Stay updated on the latest research in animal behaviour and veterinary science.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical and behavioural records for all cases.
Required Skills & QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree.
- Board certification from the American College of Veterinary Behaviourists (ACVB) or European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine or equivalent credential.
- Prior experience in veterinary behaviour consulting or related roles.
