Job Title: Senior Cost Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing and controlling costs on construction projects. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will work closely with project teams to ensure accurate financial data and forecasts are provided to stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site visits to track progress against sub-contractor requirements;
  • Enter cost details into the JD Edwards or FPM project cost control system in a timely manner;
  • Provide accurate inputs to supervisors for preparation of monthly progress claims to clients;
  • Communicate with relevant project teams to ensure variations and claims are captured;
  • Maintain a register/log of all variations and claims;
  • Draft contractual notices for supervisor's approval;
  • In conjunction with relevant project teams, prepare variations and claims for submission to clients;
  • Provide support for variations and claims negotiation and approval with clients;
  • Lead the preparation and evaluation of tender documents and contracts, and coordinate with relevant project teams to source the best sub-contractors and suppliers;
  • Evaluate procurement activities to ensure they are within project parameters;
  • Verify accuracy of sub-contractor claims for cost variations;
  • Respond to correspondence received from sub-contractors in a timely manner.
Requirements:

To be successful as a Senior Cost Manager, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of construction industry practices and regulations;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to analyze complex financial data and provide accurate forecasts;
  • Proven experience in managing and controlling costs on large-scale construction projects;
  • Strong technical skills in cost control systems and software;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities;
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
