
Clinical Department Head

The Senior Principal Therapist and Head plays a vital role in leading the department's operations, setting key performance indicators, and driving patient care and service excellence.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, effective communication, and be meticulous, strategic, fair, decisive, and insightful. They should also possess team-building and leadership skills to motivate and mentor a team of talented professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assess risks of work systems, work processes, and service delivery.
- Conduct workforce planning and/or manpower projection based on the department's current and future needs.
- Conduct audits on the department systems, processes, and operations.
- Review and refine workplace health and safety audits.
- Contribute to cluster-wide and/or national level initiatives.
- Develop business continuity plans.
- Develop health and safety policies.
- Develop mentorship frameworks.
- Develop talent retention and recruitment strategies for therapists and therapy assistants.
- Develop strategies based on clinical audit results.
- Set strategic direction for the department to align with organizational strategy and goals.
- Develop work plans for the department to meet the department's key performance indicators.
- Conduct staff performance reviews and manage learning and development.
- Identify opportunities for leadership development.
- Identify strategic quality improvement initiatives.
- Implement department policies, guidelines, and strategies.
- Manage feedback from stakeholders.
- Manage impact of adverse events and refine risk management plans.
- Contribute to cluster-wide and/or national level initiatives.
- Monitor compliance to clinical protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the therapy department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Speech and Language Pathology/Therapy recognized under Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.
- Must have obtained full registration under AHPC.
- At least 10 years in a leadership position with general management experience.
- Experience in a Social Service Agency (SSA) will be an added advantage.
