System Support Specialist Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the seamless operation of systems, fostering a productive work environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deploying, implementing, testing, and documenting software applications.
  • Developing technical specifications, designing, coding, implementing, integrating, and documenting computer, server, and cloud computing systems.
  • Providing technical support for daily operational administration and field support.
  • Conducting in-house proof of concept research and testing.
  • Implementing the Systems Development Life Cycle methodology.
  • Providing support and engineering services.
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering cybersecurity, system infrastructure, networking, Windows servers, disk storage, and cloud management.
  • Performing backup, disk space housekeeping, and creating/deleting user accounts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of similar working experience; fresh graduates welcome.
  • Experience in system integration work.
  • Proficiency in databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, Informix, and NoSQL time-series databases.
  • Programming experience in .Net, VB, and C/C++.
  • Experience in implementing cloud computing, ASP.NET, web services, and desktop applications.
  • Skills in developing websites using PHP, HTML, Ajax, JSON, and jQuery advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise technical architecture.
  • Proficient in cloud management, server management, virtualization platforms, operating system clustering, and hardware load balancing.
  • Excellent networking skills, including LAN, WiFi, cyber security, DHCP, DNS, etc.
  • Ability to possess good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to stay up-to-date with new products and technologies in IT infrastructure data management solutions.
