Chief Data Centre Specialist

Our company is seeking a skilled professional to serve as a Data Centre Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in data centre operations, process thinking and project management.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, scale and perform daily upkeep in regional data and colocation centres
- Collaborate with talented people from various areas of expertise to optimise data environments and prevent major problems
This role requires coordination of logistical tasks across locations, including procurement, shipping, moving and keeping inventory of equipment, cabling and parts. The successful candidate will also install and configure server OS in a PXE environment, install, cable, configure and troubleshoot network and server equipment, and ensure data centres uphold high standards in security, organisation, documentation, safety, cleanliness and supply management.
About the PositionThe ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data centre best practices, cabling methodology and managing vendors. They should be a clear communicator with excellent people and project management skills, and proficiency in Linux environment, including scripting skills in Bash or Python. Experience deploying various server and network hardware, designing, deploying, testing and troubleshooting copper and fibre cabling is also required.
The successful candidate will be willing to travel 2-4 weeks per year and work some evenings and weekends. Fluency in English is required, and ability to speak other Asian languages is preferred.
