The role of Senior Application Specialist is a critical position in our organization, requiring an individual with exceptional technical expertise and strong communication skills to ensure the smooth operation of our systems.
- This position entails performing root cause analysis on application defects, providing solutions for remediation, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve application-related issues or queries effectively.
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality support, ensuring production stability, and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities include:
- Perform root cause analysis on application defects and provide solutions for remediation.
- Prioritize defects and plan for production releases based on defect criticality or quarterly releases.
- Develop program code, support end-to-end testing in SIT, UAT, and deployment to Production environments.
- Ensure production stability by completing necessary risk and impact assessments before deployments.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders regarding application-related issues or queries.
- Assist production level 2 support with investigation, root cause finding, and feasibility of recovery approaches as needed.
- Follow up on defect closure and meet defect closure KPIs.
- Share production defect support learning with internal teams to improve quality and minimize future defects.
- Update application documentation properly for each production release.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3 or more years' of Production Support L3 experience across multiple technologies/platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, managing users/vendors/customers effectively.
- Experience with end-to-end development following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies/environments.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in Core Banking modules.
- Familiarity with bulk file transactions and payments domains is preferable.
- Understanding of incident and problem management processes.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies.
Proficient in AS400 platform & RPG/LE, CL/LE, COBOL400, SQL, and Query400.
