Job Summary:

A Senior Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for overseeing a team of technicians and junior staff in the Instrumentation discipline to ensure timely project implementation and optimal plant availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute projects to implement plant modifications, capital projects, and other plant improvement initiatives as per defined specifications, budget, and facility qualification in line with approved procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise to other departments and subordinates for troubleshooting and process/system improvements.
  • Maintain site equipment and facilities to high GMP standards ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and execute the Product Contamination Cause and Elimination (PCCE) program.
  • Contribute to capital project teams and develop maintenance plans for newly installed equipment.
  • Offer input to Global Engineering Standards (GES) development.
  • Ensure compliance measures, including safety, are implemented within their discipline to maintain inspection readiness and participate in audits.
  • Supervise and develop junior staff to help them realize their full potential contributing to departmental objectives.
  • Assist in developing the annual operating plan to achieve operational targets.
  • Implement the GSK Production System (GPS) for the Engineering department.
  • Plan and implement plant maintenance, manage engineering resources during turnarounds, and resolve breakdowns promptly, including engaging external assistance when necessary.
  • To support the development of the facility master plan to ensure compliance with engineering standards, manage obsolescence, and replace assets.
  • Monitor and manage utility systems to provide constant and reliable utility supply to the plant, minimizing disruption to production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in instrumentation within the process/pharmaceutical industry; added advantage having planning and scheduling/Electrical experience.
  • Familiarity with industrial standards.
  • Good understanding of local regulations.
  • Familiarity with GSK Engineering Standard (ES).
  • Basic commercial knowledge & project management skills.
  • Effective communication & Operational Excellence skills.
