Job Title: General Ledger Accountant Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Ledger Accountant Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including data entry, month-end closing activities, and ad-hoc assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform data entry and record-keeping functions with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Support the month-end closing process, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing documents.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Degree or diploma in Accountancy or Finance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP software.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications would be highly desirable for this role:

  • Relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of auditing principles and procedures.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation and accounts payable processes.
