About the Group Finance Department

Group Finance plays a pivotal role in governance and value enhancement, supporting UOB's performance and strategic goals. Our responsibilities encompass financial, regulatory, and performance reporting for the UOB Group, ensuring proper oversight and control over the Bank's resources. We provide critical insights to senior management and business units, facilitating informed decision-making for optimal financial outcomes.

Financial Information Management (FIM), Group Finance

The Financial Information Management (FIM) team is dedicated to steering the strategic direction of the Bank's financial systems. Collaborating with stakeholders and technology specialists, we deliver innovative solutions that foster UOB's growth while optimizing the value derived from our financial systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Financial Information Management team within Group Finance, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management: Collaborate closely with finance stakeholders and technology partners to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and conclude projects effectively.
  • Functional Business Analysis: Assess the technological and operational requirements of financial accounting and reporting functions within the Bank.
  • Gather and analyze user requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into functional specifications.
  • Act as a liaison with the Technology team to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet user expectations.
  • Conduct impact assessments, review functional designs against business requirements, and ensure the integrity of system designs.
  • Oversee project implementation, ensuring adherence to key milestones and timelines while proactively addressing and resolving issues.
  • Provide support for post-implementation challenges, identifying areas for enhancement in delivery.

UAT Testing and Coordination:

  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with vendors to establish necessary testing environments and support functional testing processes.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in the banking sector, particularly in Financial Accounting, with a preference for SAP application systems.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in SAP project management and testing.
  • Strong aptitude for system-related tasks, including end-user maintenance, business requirements gathering, UAT, and IT system implementation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technology and operational needs in Financial Accounting.
  • Demonstrated capability in process control and operational risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with a proactive approach and effective leadership qualities.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and confidence in engaging with various management levels.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent professional qualifications is preferred.
