Infrastructure Operations Manager.
This is a critical role for the Data Centre team. The successful candidate will lead a team of Engineers/Specialists to achieve strategic and operational goals, ensuring 100% availability of services.
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the planning, operation, and maintenance of Data Centres to deliver short and mid-term objectives in a cost-effective manner, focusing on resource efficiency and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team to implement and execute approved strategies in a timely and proper manner;
- Formulating work plans for optimal data centre running and managing the execution of these plans to meet strategy objectives;
- Ensuring smooth 24/7 operations in the data centre;
- Overseeing onsite operational incidents and major issues, including change management activities;
- Managing critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the data centre environment;
- Generating and providing periodic reports for management review and meetings;
- Reviewing and approving justified spending for replacement parts, equipment, etc., and supporting vendor evaluations;
- Formulating and executing an approved preventive maintenance program on an ongoing basis;
- Leading incident and change management to minimise impact to customer services;
- Reviewing safe work responsibilities and ensuring strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures, laws, and regulations;
- Leading facility management/data centre related certifications and implementing related compliance for both internal and external customers;
- Developing and reviewing all policies, SOPs, and Emergency Operating Procedures, implementing service improvement programs;
- Leading the team to explore and implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency in the data centre;
- Performing any other duties or projects assigned by Management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an appropriate qualification in Engineering, with at least 15 years of relevant experience in a 24/7 critical infrastructure/data centre environment. Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a team of Engineers/Specialists to achieve strategic and operational goals is essential. Relevant DC and/or FM related certifications, such as CDCP, CDCS, are also required. Familiarity with certification standards like BCM LEED Gold, ISO 20000/22301/27001, TIA 942, Uptime Institute Tier III, Green Mark, etc. is desirable. Hands-on experience and knowledge in M&E and building-related systems, such as CRAU, chillers, PDU, UPS, switchgear operations, DX cooling, network structure cabling, security, are necessary.
