Data Centre Facilities Manager Role

Job Title: Data Centre Facilities Manager

 

  • To guarantee optimal data centre operations, it is crucial to ensure the correct functioning and maintenance of all facilities equipment.
  • The job involves monitoring various systems, such as UPS battery monitoring, water leakage detection, security surveillance, video analytics, building management, and DC infrastructure management.
  • In this position, you will be responsible for 24/7 on-call support and responding promptly to emergencies that may occur in the data centre.
  • Apart from emergency response, regular checks are conducted on the environment and facilities equipment to guarantee seamless operations at all times.
  • This role also requires you to oversee routine servicing and maintenance, including timely submission of service reports and documentation.
  • You will manage IMAC documentation for M&E equipment and collaborate with vendors on installations, moves, additions, and changes to the equipment.
  • Another important responsibility is developing and implementing annual M&E maintenance schedules with appointed vendors.
  • Maintaining and updating standard operating procedures for data centre operations is a critical task in this role.
  • Liaising with landlords or facility management for building-related works, such as power maintenance, is another key responsibility.
  • Finally, tracking infrastructure capacity and providing recommendations for continuous improvement is an essential duty in this position.
  • As part of your duties, you will submit timely monthly reports using approved templates and participate in regular review meetings.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Facilities Management is required for this role.
  • Certification in Data Centre Operations is highly desirable, preferably holding Qualified DC certifications.
  • At least 18 months of hands-on experience in Data Centre Facilities Management (DCFM) is necessary, encompassing incident escalation, vendor management, and change/service request handling.
