Job Title: Cost Management Specialist
About the Role:
The Cost Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in overseeing tendering activities, fostering industry relationships, and ensuring effective cost control measures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in construction, quantity surveying, and civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain strong connections with subcontractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers to ensure timely submissions and competitive pricing.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends and industry developments to inform strategic planning and risk assessment.
- Oversee ACMV/Electrical tender administration and procedures, including RFQs and technical proposal compilation.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for all tendering activities, including scope definition, commercial requirements, and project risk assessment.
- Prepare and manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs) from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate costing and technical data submission.
- Extract Bill of Quantities from drawings, point schedules, and architectural plans, and compile price comparisons and cost summaries.
- Review addendum and corrigendum documents, updating costing summaries and technical proposals accordingly.
- Organize and maintain relevant documentation systematically.
- Participate in site briefings, meetings, and post-tender interviews as required.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with expertise in procurement, tendering, pricing, sourcing, and cost control. Strong communication and organizational skills are also necessary to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
