Culinary Expert for Traditional Chinese Cuisine

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary and Cultural Consultant to join our team at LAN ZHOU WU FU PTE. LTD. As a specialist in Traditional Chinese Cuisine, you will be responsible for developing menus, conducting culinary training, and organizing cultural workshops to enhance our clients' offerings and ensure cultural integrity.
Key Responsibilities
• Menu Development: Design and develop menus that reflect authentic traditional Chinese dishes while integrating modern culinary trends and innovative techniques.
• Culinary Training: Conduct training sessions for kitchen staff on traditional cooking methods, ingredients, and presentation techniques to ensure authenticity in preparation and service.
• Cultural Workshops: Organize and lead workshops or seminars focusing on the history, significance, and cultural aspects of traditional Chinese cuisine for chefs and industry professionals.
• Consultation Services: Provide expert consultation to restaurants and brands seeking to enhance their offerings, including recipe development, menu analysis, and operational improvements.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor food quality and presentation standards in client establishments, offering feedback and suggestions for improvement based on culinary and cultural best practices.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the F&B industry, with a focus on traditional Chinese cuisine.
• Proven experience in menu development, culinary training, or consultancy roles.
• Strong understanding of Chinese culinary traditions, ingredients, and cultural significance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor others effectively.
• Strong cooking skills in traditional Chinese techniques and knowledge of regional specialties.
• In-depth knowledge of Chinese history, customs, and food culture.
• Ability to innovate and develop new dishes that respect traditional flavors while appealing to contemporary tastes.
• Strong presentation and teaching abilities to convey culinary concepts and cultural stories effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of services and satisfaction of clients.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficient in inventory management and cost control.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.
• Effective communication skills at all levels, with receptiveness to feedback. Knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage.
• Willingness to work split shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must be able to join within short notice.
