About the Role

This role involves ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of business strategies and objectives. Ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  2. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  3. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
  4. Contribute to an inclusive work environment.
  5. Support the execution of APAC Finance day-to-day data management.
  6. Work in conjunction with data consumers and Domain stakeholders to establish data quality rules, standards, and thresholds.
  7. Partner with technology and Regulatory Risk Governance Group for the delivery of tools required for data governance and attestation operations.
  8. Establish data attributes, source to target mappings, and identification of critical data elements.
  9. Pull data through SQL or other applications and have a good knowledge of business analysis.
  10. Establish data quality rules for identified CDEs and work with the data office in establishing data quality monitoring.
  11. Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong data management by ensuring finance groups adhere to the data risk policy and data standards.
  12. Develop and maintain standards as required relating to data quality, issue management, and change management for APAC Finance data.

Requirements

  • Studying for a degree/major in Computer Science/Accounting/Banking and Finance or related technical field.
  • Preferably 1-2 years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Has experience working on data projects, viz. identification of CDEs, data lineage, data quality, and issue management.
  • Knowledge on finance, data risk policy, and data standards is a plus.
  • Skilled and has working experience Tableau, Power Bi, SQL, SAS, Microsoft Office, and other analytics tools.

What We Offer

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year based on location and experience.
