Coinbase is seeking a highly skilled Institutional Onboarding Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Institutional Onboarding team, you will be responsible for mitigating risk for Coinbase and our clients through comprehensive KYC & AML reviews, client communication, and due diligence investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough KYC & AML reviews on institutional clients, including corporations, financial institutions, and other entity types, to verify their identity, ownership structure, and beneficial ownership.
  • Communicate directly with high-profile clients to perform platform walk-throughs, answer complex questions, and identify documentation requirements.
  • Conduct investigative reviews and analysis in support of Coinbase's KYC/AML regulatory compliance policies and program, including confirming and analyzing documentation received and required during the application review and provisioning process.
  • Analyze client responses, documentation, and KYC information and conduct due diligence reviews in support of detailed Coinbase processes and procedures.
  • Document Client Due Diligence / Enhanced Due Diligence investigations in written narratives.
  • Determine whether activity warrants escalation for additional review and recommend whether documentation appears suspicious and warrants rejecting the client's application.
  • Incorporate feedback from quality assurance and quality control teams.
  • Maintain detailed documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Remain current with industry standards and developments in the areas of KYC, BSA/AML, and OFAC, and apply regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures to case investigations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including relationship managers, legal counsel, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate the onboarding of institutional clients and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English.
  • Experience in KYC / AML / EDD background within the financial services industry, with a focus on institutional client onboarding.
  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance).
  • Knowledge of institutional business, including ownership structures, beneficial ownership, trust, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with different channels of support, including voice, email, and/or chat.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a high-growth and fast-paced organization.
  • Work within defined shift hours and participate in a weekend or on-call rotation (depending on business need).
  • Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with institutional clients and regulators professionally.

Nice to Haves:

  • CAMS certified (not required, but a major plus).
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Salesforce, and Jira.
