Job Title: Vocational Track Subject Head

Pathlight School, a leading autism resource centre in Singapore, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Vocational Track Subject Head. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our vocational training programme, equipping students with practical skills for future employment and daily living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development and Instructional Excellence: Develop, review, and improve curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment for specific domains to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Student-Centred Learning: Model and deliver student-centred, evidence-based lessons tailored to diverse learner profiles.
  • Programme Implementation and Evaluation: Lead the implementation, customization, and evaluation of school-based curriculum or programs.
  • Instructional Monitoring and Support: Implement frameworks for monitoring instructional programs, classroom practices, and student progress.
  • Lesson Planning and Assessment: Plan engaging lessons considering diverse learner profiles and use appropriate assessment methods to monitor and support student progress.
Holistic Student Development:
  • Student Relationships and Behaviour Management: Build strong relationships with students through care and encouragement.
  • Behavioural Support: Design techniques and behaviour plans to manage students with complex behaviours.
  • Teacher Coaching and Support: Coach teachers on integrating ITP goals into lesson planning, in collaboration with families and other stakeholders.
  • Student Development and Safety: Implement tools and strategies to support ongoing student development and create a safe learning environment.
  • Emergency Response: Manage emergency situations to ensure immediate safety and follow required school processes.
Mentorship and People Development:
  • Teacher Feedback and Mentorship: Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to teachers to encourage performance improvement.
  • Professional Development: Facilitate skill development in lesson design, pedagogy, and assessment methods.
  • Progress Evaluation and Coaching: Evaluate progress and performance of direct reports and provide coaching.
  • Professional Learning Initiatives: Lead or co-lead discussions and professional learning initiatives.
  • Development Plans: Assist in creating professional development plans for assigned domains.
Projects, Programmes, and Initiatives:
  • Subject Team Leadership: Lead or co-lead subject teams, CCAs, and school-wide initiatives/events.
  • Programme Development and Implementation: Plan and implement track-wide programs or initiatives in collaboration with the Head of Track.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Management:
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including families, caregivers, community, and commercial partners.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop communication materials for relevant programs and initiatives in collaboration with the Head of Track.
  • Family Engagement: Maintain direct communications and work in partnership with families to support student learning and post-school outcomes.
  • External Partnerships: Engage with external stakeholders to support school initiatives and student development.
  • Collaborative Outcomes: Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes for school-wide programs.
Organisational Management and Development:
  • Partnership Development: Foster partnerships with stakeholders to support school programs and initiatives.
  • Culture and Professionalism: Promote a culture of integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and innovation within the school.
  • Resource Management: Manage allocated budgets and resources effectively for assigned domains.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience: Min. Diploma in Special Education (DISE) with at least 5 years of experience in vocational training or a related field.
  • Curriculum Development and Delivery: Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Leadership and Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Passion for Autism Education: Passion for working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
