Data Centre Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Design Professional to lead and support the planning, design, and implementation coordination of data centre infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Centre Floor Plan Design: Interpret and validate data centre floor plans and technical drawings, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Rack Positioning and Layout Planning: Design and plan DC hall layouts for newly allocated spaces, including rack positioning, structured cabling, power, and cooling design.
  • Vendor Review and Assessment: Review and assess vendor-submitted data centre plans, evaluate proposed technologies, and clarify design justifications.
  • Implementation Coordination: Coordinate and oversee the implementation of data centre infrastructure with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data center design, planning, and implementation coordination.
  • Proven ability to interpret and work with data centre schematics and technical layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of rack layout, structured cabling, power distribution, and cooling infrastructure.
  • Experience working with vendors, contractors, and internal engineering teams in infrastructure project delivery.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards in high-availability data centre environments.
  • Background in banking or other mission-critical facilities is preferred.

Relevant certifications are highly regarded:

CDCDP – Certified Data Centre Design Professional.

DCDC – Data Centre Design Consultant.

ATD – Accredited Tier Designer.

CDCE – Certified Data Centre Expert.

CDCMP – Certified Data Centre Management Professional.

PE (Professional Engineer) certification is an added advantage.
