As a Senior Sport Biomechanist, you will be part of a team that produces champions who ignite the Singapore Spirit by leading and implementing Sport Biomechanics services to identified sport programs.

Provide high-quality, sport-specific, evidence-based, and performance-focused services to address priorities identified by coaches and athletes.

Establish a robust R&D roadmap focused on strategic requirements and targeted issues that enhance medal-winning opportunities.

Be recognized as a technical expert in the international research field and attract collaborators from other sport institutions/academia.

Stay current and share knowledge with the team on innovative developments and emerging technologies in the field of Sport Biomechanics.

Plan and optimize Sport Biomechanics support and delivery to various sport programs and initiatives.

Establish and implement a career pathway based on best practices and international standards.

Grow the pipeline of Biomechanists and provide professional mentoring and supervision to specialists, interns/trainees, and students on various assignments related to Singapore Sport Institute's (SSI) focus.

Additionally, an ideal candidate should possess the following:

• A background in Sport Biomechanics or a related specialty.
• Minimum 6 years of working experience as a Sport Biomechanist, with a strong background in the application of progressive, evidence-based Sport Biomechanics support to individual athletes, teams, and coaches in a high-performance sporting environment.
• Strong background knowledge and understanding of other sport science disciplines comprising physiology, nutrition, psychology, strength & conditioning and sport medicine, and how these come together in a transdisciplinary manner to enhance sporting performance.
• Preferably experience in computational fluid dynamics and proficiency in coding languages such as MatLab and Python.
• Experience with motion capture systems, force plates, and other biomechanical tools.
• Experience with performing musculoskeletal modelling using different software such as OpenSim, Visual 3D, AnyBody and Bodybuilder.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead a team.
• Demonstrate the commitment to sporting success in high performance sport.
• Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, effective negotiation, and consultation skills, open and dedicated to engaging in respectful and effective relationship building with stakeholders from diverse sports and backgrounds.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead, educate and motivate athletes and coaches to embrace scientific support.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to optimise athletic performance and reduce injury risks.

The level of offer will commensurate with applicants' experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance.
