Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Counsellor/Youth Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students in schools, providing emotional support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group intervention for youths in our programme, including face-to-face and virtual sessions.
  • Work closely with school personnel to identify students who require additional support and develop strategies to meet their needs.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate on-going youth programmes and services, ensuring they are effective and meet the needs of our students.
  • Conduct analysis of community needs and develop new programmes and services to address these needs.
  • Network with stakeholders and external organizations to promote our work and build partnerships.
  • Support the growth and development of our team, including mentoring and training colleagues.
  • Perform administration, billing, and programme responsibilities that support the operational work of the organisation.
  • Manage correspondences and coordinate with staff, stakeholders, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
  • Assist in various programmes as required, including fundraising and other responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Possess minimum a bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, or psychology from a recognised university.
  • Experience working with youth/school settings.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), or trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable students and being a team player.
  • MOE REMS registered instructor is required.
  • Energetic and willing to engage students outside the counselling room.
